Thank you, Mission Campers and Volunteers!
Emmanuel’s three-day Mission Camp from June 19—21 focused on living out Matthew 25:31-40.
Sixteen children and sixteen volunteers participated. Volunteers assisted Lauren Black with planning and leading Bible Study, energizers and games, and daily service projects, including transportation to off-site locations. Volunteers also provided snacks and lunch each day for Campers and volunteers.
Many thanks to all the volunteers for their gifts of energy and time, to Lauren Black for her leadership, and to the office staff for their support!
Mission Camp connected Campers with community organizations that seek to house, clothe, feed, and support people who need assistance, both emergency assistance and daily living assistance. Campers learned about and helped:
- Trinity Habitat for Humanity: Campers painted siding that will be used on the Thang family’s home currently, under construction in the Hillside/Morningside neighborhood of Fort Worth.
- NorthEast Emergency Distribution (NEED): Campers sorted and folded plastic bags used for food pantry orders at NEED. They also toured the NEED food pantry and resale shop to learn about the assistance NEED provides Hurst/Euless/Bedford communities.
- Parkwood Retirement Community: Campers worked with residents to make and present twenty Parkwood staff with appreciation gifts.
We appreciate these organizations who worked with us and who do so much in our community!
Mission Camp concluded with an afternoon swim party hosted at the home of the Ferrandino family. Thank you to the Ferrandinos for your hospitality!
